It was announced today that LinkedIn will provide €180,000 in funding over the next two years to Jobcare, through the company’s social impact programme, LinkedIn for Good. The programme aims to connect communities in need with economic opportunities to make their visions a reality.

Jobcare will use the funding to help improve their participants’ digital skills and update their IT equipment to offer people the best experience possible, as well as to extend the organisation’s reach to jobseekers outside of Dublin.

LinkedIn will also help support Jobcare by hosting workshops in their office for jobseekers and making staff available to attend the non-profit’s bi-annual career clinics and Network 2 Getwork events.

Furthermore, LinkedIn will allow all of its staff to take a day every month, called an ‘InDay’, to volunteer for causes they feel passionate about. LinkedIn employees will be able to support Jobcare with their skills and expertise as part of the company’s vision to create economic opportunity for every member of the global workforce.

Speaking at the launch of the partnership, Senior Director International Operations and Site Leader of LinkedIn Ireland, Sharon McCooey said, "LinkedIn exists to help people find economic opportunity, so we are very excited about the chance to partner with Jobcare to help people across Ireland get into rewarding careers. With our EMEA headquarters in Dublin, we recognise that we have a great responsibility to be a positive part of this community, and our team are delighted to be able to support a cause that they are passionate about."

Co-Founder and Chief Executive of Jobcare, Paul Mooney added, "While Ireland is in the midst of an economic recovery there are still many people dealing with unemployment or finding it hard to find work. The experience of unemployment can be devastating for individuals and their families, so we have dedicated ourselves over the past twenty years to help people get over their barriers to employment. We are extremely fortunate to have found a partner in LinkedIn, who can not only provide us with substantial financial support, but also help the modern jobseeker with the digital skills they require for today’s workplace."
