The Irish Independent has today reported that Slack expects to triple staff at their new Irish headquarters.
Speaking to the Irish Independent, Founder and Chief Executive, Stewart Butterfield said that the Irish office would reach 180 employees this year. He said that his company chose Dublin over Amsterdam, London and other European cities partly to "steal" good staff from other companies.
"Dublin is ahead," he said. "It's part of Europe, has a good ecosystem and has good people to hire. And when we hire them, they often have connections to people we can steal."
Mr Butterfield was speaking ahead of the opening of Slack's new European headquarters in Dublin. Slack is a messaging app for work teams which includes team communication, file sharing and other tools together in one central platform.
