It was announced today that international life sciences company, Eurofins, plans to create 150 jobs.

The expansion is part of an information technology investment strategy and the establishment of a Global Software Engineering Centre in Dublin. Recruitment has already begun for these roles.

A specific focus of the 150-strong Dublin team will be on DevOps, virtualisation and cloud strategy, together with driving quality and software engineering best practices for Eurofins’ 1,500 strong software development teams in the US, Europe and India.

The Dublin team will implement world-class software solutions which will be used by over 45,000 Eurofins employees and millions of customers worldwide.

Headquartered in Luxembourg, Eurofins is a global provider in analytical testing and has consistently been one of the fastest growing companies in the world for the past two decades. Recording €50m sales in 2000, in 2018, Eurofins set an objective to generate €4bn sales in 2018.

Over the last six years alone, the Eurofins Group has quadrupled in size. With over 45,000 staff globally, and a network of more than 650 laboratories across 45 countries in Europe, North and South America and Asia-Pacific, Eurofins is responsible for performing over 400 million tests every year.

Eurofins already has a significant footprint in Ireland, first established in 2003, with labs in Dublin, Waterford and Cork, carrying out clinical diagnostics, biopharma, agro-science and food and beverage testing.

Building on the team of 775 analytical testing and administrative professionals already based in Ireland, Eurofins will establish and provide world-class software development capability and technology expertise to the business from its new offices in Sandyford, Dublin.

Commenting on the expansion, Director IT Solutions Engineering at Eurofins, Claudius Masuch said, "We’re looking to build on our global team of 1,500 software developers with the addition of a 150-strong team here in Dublin, who will help us to make a difference to the way we build, deliver and use software across the globe. Ireland is well-renowned for its highly-skilled technology workforce. We’ve seen first-hand the quality of talent in our life science departments and we want to replicate that in our new IT facility."
