Douglas Control and Automation is marking 40 years in business with the announcement that the firm will create an additional 10 new jobs in the coming 18 months.
Founded 40 years ago by Paul Sliney, the company, is the longest established Irish supplier of automation solutions. It is managed by Eugene Piggott and fellow directors, John O’Sullivan, Declan Lordan and James O’Shea. Douglas Control and Automation is partnered with global giants such as Siemens, Wonderware, Rockwell and Stahl, to deliver solutions for the manufacturing, pharma, biotech, medtech and transport sectors in Ireland, the UK and Europe.
With a team of highly skilled engineers, the company headcount has grown steadily in the last decade particularly and is expected to increase further in the coming 18 months with contract wins and client expansion in Ireland, Europe and USA.
Speaking this week, Engineering Director, John O’Sullivan said, "In 40 years we have continuously innovated, moving with the client requirements from electronics systems in the 1980s to machine automation and process control in the 1990s, to batch management, data historians and validation services to the Life Science sector in the 2000s. Today we continue to add solutions to our portfolio as we have achieved certification in functional safety systems and look to the challenges facing our clients, such as cyber-security."
