McDonald’s Ireland is celebrating the opening of a new restaurant in Gorey, Wexford. It is 42 years since McDonald’s opened its first restaurant in Ireland on Grafton Street, today it has opened its 93rd in Wexford.

The restaurant is situated at the recently opened M11 Circle K Service Station in Gorey and will offer seating for up to 50 people. The total value of the investment in the new restaurant is €1.7 million.

The McDonald’s Gorey restaurant will be operated by franchisee Amir Afsar, who owns 11 other McDonald’s restaurants in Dublin and Wicklow, including the Grafton Street franchise. The new restaurant will employ over 50 people, of which 45 of those will be new hires.

Speaking about the restaurant opening, Amir Afsar said, "I am very excited to open this new restaurant in Gorey and we can’t wait to welcome the customers through our doors. It is important that our customers can access the best family-friendly facilities and services on offer and this new restaurant in Gorey provides that in abundance."
