It has been announced today that TV3 will support Children’s Hospice Week and LauraLynn, Ireland’s only Children’s Hospice.
There are 3,840 children living with a life-limiting condition in Ireland, and each year about 320 of these children die. LauraLynn is Ireland’s only Children’s Hospice providing paediatric palliative care in Ireland.
Children’s Hospice Week will take place from the 11th – 15th May 2015. Throughout the week, TV3 will be bringing out the Superhero in all its flagship shows from Ireland AM through to Xpose, meeting some real-life heroes, from Leinster players to musicians to super children who fight the good fight every day.
In additional support, Ireland AM presenter Alan Hughes, Midday presenter Elaine Crowley, Xpose presenter Glenda Gilson, and The Seven O’Clock Show’s Martin King will each take part in an Abseil Challenge in Croke Park on Thursday 14th May to raise funds for LauraLynn. TV3 viewers will be asked to get behind the team they’d like to support.
TV3 Group CEO, David McRedmond said, "TV3 is delighted to partner with LauraLynn and this fun initiative to raise much needed funds for the children’s hospice. It’s only fitting that it has a super hero theme given the superheroes that LauraLynn looks after every day. As Ireland’s most successful commercial TV station with over 3.4million viewers, we’re in a fantastic position to be able to help LauraLynn achieve their goals and look forward to supporting them in any way we can between now and 15th May."
