It was announced yesterday that the Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) has agreed another five years with its catering partner, Fitzers Catering Ltd.

Fitzers Catering has managed hospitality at The CCD since the venue opened in 2010. Known as CCD Hospitality, this news comes just days after The CCD was awarded silver status by the World Obesity Federation’s Healthy Venues Award programme.

The Healthy Venues Award encourages venues to support their delegates and staff in making healthier choices while attending conferences. The CCD is only the second venue in Europe and third worldwide to receive this accreditation after it met all of the criteria to become a Silver Healthy Venue.

Furthermore, Fitzers Catering is an award winning company having been named as one of Ireland’s ‘Best Managed’ companies for four years in a row in the Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards Programme. While CCD Hospitality won ‘Best Event Caterer’ at the 2011 Event Industry Awards and ‘Best Banqueting Team’ at the 2012 Event Industry Awards.

Director and Executive Head Chef at Fitzers Catering, Leonard Fearon said, "We are thrilled to extend our partnership with The CCD. It’s a testament to the long-standing relationship we have with the team as well as our continued commitment to service excellence."

He added, "What we have shown here today is a sample of the healthy menu options we offer in The CCD, using only the finest of Irish ingredients. I’m excited to work with the team on new ideas and innovations for visitors to The CCD over the coming years."
