The Abrivia Leaders Series breakfast took place yesterday at the Marker Hotel in Dublin.

Yesterday's event focused on coping mechanisms in pursuing a successful career. The guest speakers were rugby expert, journalist and author Brent Pope and psychologist Dr Claire Hayes who outlined the ways in which organisations can support their employees’ mental health and reduce workplace stress.

The Leaders Series was established by Abrivia Recruitment in 2015 to help raise awareness and funds for Aware, Ireland’s leading organization supporting people experiencing depression and related mood disorders.  
 
Brent Pope said, "We should make it almost normal for staff, including upper management, to talk comfortably about their problems. Your attendance here today means that you recognise that a lot of mental health problems are treatable and in fact more normal than many think."
 
Dr Claire Hayes, Clinical Director with Aware added, "The workplace has become more challenging, more pressured and for many, considerably more stressful. An increasing number of people at all levels in organisations experience mental health difficulties and companies are rightly being asked to focus on how they can support employees better."
