Druids Glen Hotel and Golf Resort on the market for €45m

The Druids Glen Hotel and Golf Resort has announced that it has commenced a process to potentially sell the entire resort with a guide price of €45million. The property is comprised of the entire Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort situated on 349 acres in Co. Wicklow, to the south of Dublin. 
 
The Druids Glen golf course opened in 1995 and has hosted four Irish Opens and the Seve Trophy, the Five Star hotel opened in 2002 and a second golf course, Druids Heath opened in 2003. Over € 9m has been recently invested in the resort including the opening of additional facilities in the hotel. The resort is owned by the Lappin, the Hurley and the Flinn families who purchased the resort in 1995.

The opportunity includes a Five Star Hotel with 145 guestrooms and suites, eight conference and event spaces, and dining options including Hugo’s Restaurant, the Garden Rooms and Bar, and the Sycamore Lounge. It also includes a Spa, Health Club and two 18-hole championship golf courses – Druids Glen and Druids Heath – designed by renowned course designer Pat Ruddy and former Irish golfer, Tom Craddock.
 
Speaking this week, Chief Executive of Druids Glen Hotel and Golf Resort, Edward Stephenson said, "The Druids Glen Resort has grown year on year and has become one of Ireland’s key destination resorts.  Situated in north Wicklow, it is an integral part of the local community and caters for over 130,000 visitors every year."

He added, "All aspects of the business have performed very well in recent years and this strong performance is reflected in 2017 revenues rising by 6%, profits growing by 21% and business in 2018 showing strong growth. Forecasted revpar (revenue per available room) is at €111."
