It was announced today that Multi Corporation, the pan-European retail platform that has managed Blanchardstown Centre since August 2016, has this week lodged a planning application with Fingal County Council to reconfigure and extend Blanchardstown Centre’s Red Mall.

The 100,000sq.ft. development will create a new 40,000sq.ft. major unit and 18 standard retail units. A number of existing tenants will be relocating to facilitate the development.

Should planning be granted for the Red Mall extension, this will allow a €40m investment in the Centre to proceed, creating 300 permanent positions with an additional 250 jobs during the construction phase of the project. Blanchardstown Centre currently generates employment for 5,500 people.

Commenting on the application, Managing Director of Multi Ireland, Dominic Deeny said, "This development proposal is the second in a number of planned investments in Blanchardstown Centre. These investments will create the enhanced shopping experience that our customers expect, and will provide the range of unit sizes and configurations that retailers seeking a presence within Ireland’s leading retail location require."
