It was announced this week that IDA Ireland will host an event in Dublin on the 20th January which will showcase Ireland’s attractiveness as a location for foreign direct investment and showcase Irish Tech talent.

The event will be addressed by CEO of Apple, Tim Cook. At the event, Cook will receive the inaugural IDA Ireland Special Recognition Award which celebrates FDI commitment to Ireland.

The Award will be presented by An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar and Martin Shanahan, CEO IDA Ireland.

Speaking this week, Shanahan said, "It is important that we celebrate Foreign Direct Investment in Ireland. Attracting FDI is a key element of our industrial policy and it has served us extraordinarily well over many years. We should never take FDI for granted.”
