The demand for tech talent remains high as Ireland approaches full employment, according to analysis from Seen, the new tech hiring platform by global job site Indeed.

New figures show that tech roles accounted for 12% of the jobs posted on Indeed, while in comparison, only 4% of clicks by Irish users are on tech related jobs. Recent research also found that 25% of clicks on tech jobs in Ireland come from abroad, suggesting a reliance on foreign workers to fill roles in this area.

Indeed found that searches for specific coding languages remained strong, with the most popular coding languages among Irish jobseekers being Python and SQL, with jobs using C_sharp, Javascript, Php also in demand by those looking for tech jobs.

Dublin comes out as the top location for tech job postings, with 63% of postings based in the capital. This is followed by Cork (12%) and Galway (5%). Interestingly, 5% of jobs post no set location, perhaps indicating growing flexibility when it comes to location or remote working options.

Commenting on the figures, General Manager of Seen by Indeed, Shawn Bose said, "Today, every company is a technology company and in Ireland many of the employers hiring the most tech-related roles are financial and accountancy ones as well as more traditional tech companies."

He added "This demand has created a squeeze for tech talent and the challenge for employers is how to attract them. We know salary is the most important motivation but workers also want to identify and connect with companies whose job opportunities will be the right next step in their career, and whose cultures will enable them to thrive."
