It was announced this week that a tech company from Dublin has won the Dublin City Enterprise Award 2018.

Usheru powers direct ticketing and marketing data insights for film distributors. The top prize of €5,000 was presented to Catherine Downes, Founder, Operational & Marketing lead of Usheru and they will now go forward to represent Local Enterprise Office Dublin City at the National Enterprise Awards, which celebrates its 20th anniversary on May 24th.

The company connects a film website to the existing point of sale systems of cinemas and allows a consumer to book tickets really simply. It connects film marketing to the box office and is creating a ‘direct-to-consumer future’ for film distributors. Usheru employs four people at its Dublin 7 base, with plans to employ seven more staff within the next 12 months.

Members of the judging panel were Senior Business Advisors and experienced Mentors with the Local Enterprise Office Dublin City mentor panel, with over 20 years experience in senior business development and project management roles.

Congratulating the winners, Head of Enterprise & Economic Development with Local Enterprise Office Dublin City, Greg Swift said, "Usheru has already become a success story and the judges were particularly impressed by the expertise within the team, the passion and philosophy they apply to their business. Usheru are building a successful and sustainable business, while delivering customer service solutions for other businesses – cinemas, festivals and film distributors.
