Security is one of the rising concerns in today's world. Both internet and physical security issues should not take the backseat in any organization. From hackers accessing the organization's data to intruders who threaten the safety of a property and its occupants, you must recognize the need for reliable security. To enhance the physical security of your facility, it is recommended to use turnstiles in Ireland to ensure effective control in terms of the specific visitors and employees who access your facility.

The following are the top benefits of using turnstiles instead of doors.

1. Improved security

Generally, turnstiles offer superior access control by detecting and deterring or unauthorized entries to a facility. Whenever entering a building, the first point of entry is often a door. Many property owners choose to add a biometric or card reader and electronic locks to that door. Unless a visitor or employee has the right credentials, that door cannot open.

However, an unauthorized individual can easily follow an authorized person through the secured entry point. This is what is commonly known as tail-tagging. One of the top benefits of installing turnstiles is that it will limit the number of people who can either enter or exit on each presented card or other credentials in a single direction of passage. That means turnstiles are more effective compared to doors fitted with biometric readers and electronic locks.

2. Better access integration

According to many security experts, turnstiles can be integrated with a property's access control systems easily. When implemented correctly, an access control system lets turnstiles work in conjunction with the building's doors, surveillance cameras, and other pieces of security equipment to ensure only cleared personnel can use the entry points.

There are many benefits of using a highly integrated access control system. For example, it can provide important data such as the specific identity, location of each person who entered the building, the specific time of entry, and more. The system uses this data to make it easier for the management team to track and pinpoint various visitors within the building. Also, it makes it easier to identify potential security threats and handle them as early as possible.

3. Property's operational flexibility

As mentioned earlier, turnstiles improve a facility's operation by streamlining the entire access control system. They accommodate a broad range of credential readers, and this facilitates the use of nearly any type of media to assess entry authorization. These types of media include magnetic strips, barcodes, biometrics, and proximity cards.

The specific readers installed in the turnstiles let users present specific credentials before entry. The system has a self-verification function that lessens the burden on security guards and receptionists. This allows these junior employees to focus on their primary jobs rather than verifying credentials all day long.

Are you considering various options to boost the security of your facility? Well, turnstiles can be an excellent option if only you can integrate them with the other components of your security or access control system.
