AIB and The Irish Times have today announced the second year of the AIB Start-Up Academy, an initiative which supports the start-up community across Ireland through mentoring.
The AIB Start-Up Academy will visit Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Sligo, Athlone, Wexford, Killarney, and Kilkenny from May to November to draw together a mix of entrepreneurs, mentors, and investors at gatherings in cities and towns across the country.
The events are for start-ups from all backgrounds and at all stages, including those who are considering embarking on a new business venture for the first time. Successful and experienced local entrepreneurs will be on hand at each event to share their stories and to network with attendees.
The launch of the 2015 AIB Start-Up Academy will take place tonight at the The Sugar Club and speakers will include Brody Sweeney, Founder of Camile Thai along with start-up companies Coolbeans, Herdwatch and Girlcrew.
Head of Business Banking at AIB, Ken Burke said, "AIB understands that entrepreneurship is vital to the Irish economy and the calibre of start-ups in the market is fantastic, we really saw that in the entries for the 2014 academy programme.
The AIB Start-up Academy will play a significant role in our on-going work to foster and cultivate entrepreneurship across the country. We are delighted to be working with The Irish Times on this project for a second year to support entrepreneurs across Ireland."
