The best and brightest of Ireland's digital media were celebrated at the 2017 Accenture Digital Media Awards this month at the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road.
Hosted by Irish Radio Broadcaster Tom Dunne and comedy duo Lords of Strut, the awards were attended by almost 800 of Ireland’s digital industry.
ican were named Agency of the Year (sponsored by Accenture Digital) in addition to taking home the award for Best Technology Innovation and Best Collaborative campaign for their work with TG4. ican worked hard to create awareness around TG4’s 20th birthday by creating the character ‘Cáitlin Eile’ and bringing home-grown content to an international audience.
Target McConnells took home the award for Best in Travel & Tourism (sponsored by Hotel & Catering Review) for their work on the 1916 centenary programme by bringing to life one of Ireland’s most widely recognised buildings, the G.P.O. Along with An Post, they launched the GPO Witness History Exhibition Centre.
A special recognition trophy was awarded to Colin Meagle of Continuum who left an impression with his Excellence in Digital Leadership.
Thérapie Clinic tagged the award for Best Brand, a hugely competitive category for this year’s awards, with double the number of entries on last year, while OMD & DDFH&B win Best in Retail and Consumer Goods with their work for Water Wipes.
Amnet Ireland won the award for Best Newcomer (sponsored by Extra.ie) while all eyes were on Shane Downey of Dublin Institute of Ireland, who showcased a promising future by winning Digital Student of the Year (sponsored by Accenture Digital).
Speaking on the night, Head of Digital at Accenture Ireland, Vicky Godolphin said, "The standard of this year’s entries was exceptional and demonstrates the amazing contributions of everyone involved and their ability to excite, provoke, create and reimagine. Above all, the Accenture Digital Media Awards is further reinforcement of Ireland as a home for world-class digital and design talent. Congratulations to all the finalists and winners for their outstanding work!"
