Deliveroo has today set out ambitious plans for restaurants, riders and customers across Europe in 2019.
The plans come as the company continues to expand in Ireland. Today, Deliveroo announced that it will expand into Swords, Co. Dublin, following on from the recent announcement of the Virtual Brands launch in Ireland.
Virtual Brands allows existing restaurants to increase revenue by offering customers new or complementary cuisines from their current kitchen, but under new branding. Restaurants use existing kitchen staff and chefs but are able to save on food costs and cut wastage, a significant challenge in the restaurant industry. Deliveroo will have developed 1,700 virtual brands across Europe by end 2019.
A virtual brand appears as a separate restaurant on Deliveroo with a new identity driven by a new cuisine or menu offering.
Deliveroo will also be expanding into Blanchardstown, Co. Dublin, this week, where it is partnering with 20 restaurants. Deliveroo is aiming to work with more than 40 restaurants in both Blanchardstown and Swords by years’ end.
