Driving Traffic Through Content: How to Capture Your Audience

Whenever we need an answer to a quick question, we all now take out our phones and search on Google from wherever we are. We use the internet whenever we want to know more about any and every topic under the sun, when we want to buy something, and when we even want to pay a bill. We go to Wikipedia if we want to know who the fifth president of the Republic of the Philippines is. We make searches through Google if we want to learn which of the nearest restaurants offer the best tenderloin steaks. We go to Youtube for the trailers of some of the latest movies.

Because of all this, it is safe to assume that those who know a lot about specific things are going to reign supreme online. Hence, it’s not really a bad idea if you want to start a blog about something that you are so passionate about, be it traveling, makeup, or even just food trips and gaming.

But things are going to be a bit different if you would want to earn money through your blog or website. You need to sound believable, and this article is going to show just how to do this.

Keep things truthful

When you write posts, bear in mind that your readers can always verify what you’re saying by looking them up through search engines. Hence, it always pays if you just keep things truthful. This applies more if you are a professional who’s trying to sell or promote their services online. A business attorney, for example, needs to keep their promises in check. They have to make sure that all that they say is within the limits set by the law. They also need to be updated with the recent developments because interpretations of laws change through time.

Keep the tone informal

In our efforts to make very good impressions, we sometimes start to become technical with our choice of words and even in the way we approach the topic. While this is not entirely wrong, this can scare away readers; especially those who are not that well-versed with the topic.

You have to bear in mind that you can still make good impressions even while using everyday language. In fact, it’s going to be more effective this way. Speaking the language of the ordinary reader makes your page appear relatable and engaging. It also makes your page a lot easier to understand.

Don’t forget the citations

In writing content, it always pays to do a little research so that the article will contain more interesting facts. Of course, you need to credit your sources to avoid issues with plagiarism and violations of intellectual property rights. But this does not mean that you have to go full academic citation style in your article. A simple link to the original source will do. But why bother with links at all?

Having a reasonable number of links in your pages gives off the idea that you read widely and that you really are a reliable expert in your field. It also suggests that you are embedded within a trustworthy network of knowledgeable people. These impressions enhance your credibility greatly.

Businessworld

For sure, not everyone has the time to develop and curate content for their websites, especially if their pages are made just to promote an offline business. We at Businessworld offer writing services for such individuals. We make sure that their offers are adequately promoted across platforms.
