The Irish Exporters Association and Ulster Bank have once again teamed up for the Regional Business Roadshow.
A series of six regional business seminars were held in The Clayton Hotel, Galway this morning. Over 80 exporters and service providers attended this event from all over Connaught to hear from Export Industry Panel and Industry Speakers.
Furthermore, a lively panel discussion led by Brian Jensen, Political/Economic Counselor, US Embassy in Ireland, took place on the US as a key international market for exporters focusing on industry opportunities and challenges relevant to the Connaught region.
Other speakers included Business Development Director of Lifes2good, Andy Leyland and Chief Executive of Chameleon Colour Systems Ltd, Padraic Timon.
Chief Executive of the Irish Exporters Association, Simon McKeever commented, "Galway is an extremely important export location for the country with many indigenous Irish companies exporting together with a very strong input from the Med Tech, ICT and Food and Drink sectors. Galway is home to 4 of the top 5 ICT companies and as a county employs one third of the country’s medical device employees."
Ulster Bank’s head of SME Banking in the South Midlands and West, Pat Horgan added, "We know from talking to our customers in Galway that there are exciting and innovative businesses here and we are delighted to have had the opportunity to hear more about what matters to them."
He continued, "Ulster Bank has a dedicated fund of €1.5bn available to lend to businesses in 2016, a 31 per cent increase on last year. We’re here to talk to customers about how we can provide meaningful help so they can turn their ideas into a reality."
