Telcom Ltd has today announced a €1m investment as it becomes the newest Internet Service Provider to enter the market. The Irish owned company was established in 1999 and has been providing voice services to the Corporate and SME sectors for many years, with clients such as Green Property Ltd, Higher Education Authority, ISS Facility Services and IrishJobs.
As part of its investment programme, Telcom have teamed up with independent integrator Agile Networks to design and install the new network and will host it in the TelecityGroup, within their carrier-neutral data centre.
Thanks to this substantial investment in its infrastructure, which includes an upgrade to a 10 gigabit Core Network, the family-owned company has now entered the business-to-business data services market, in direct competition with the likes of Eircom, Vodafone and BT.
The founder of Telcom and its Managing Director, Liam Tully said, "Telcom may be the newest Internet Service Provider on the market, but we’ve already gained a strong foothold in the voice services sector over a long number of years.
There’s a greater demand from business customers for faster and more reliable fibre speeds, so this investment in our core network will deliver a new data solution in addition to our existing voice offering to offices and workplaces throughout the country."
