It was announced today that Irish FinTech company, Global Shares, is set to create 50 new jobs in the West Cork town of Clonakilty.

The company – which manages employee share plans for companies all over the world – has also opened new offices in Cork city, Barcelona, Lisbon, Malta, Nashville and Beijing.

Global Shares, which has hired 101 new people so far this year across multiple sites, already has offices New Jersey, London, Edinburgh, Hong Kong and Munich. Named as Deloitte’s “Irish fintech company of the year” in 2017, Global Shares received an investment from US private equity company, Motive Partners, last year.

The jobs currently available in Clonakilty include a role as a credit controller, a director of financial and tax reporting, various IT and development roles and operations analysts.

"This is a really exciting time for Global Shares," COO Mark Purcell said. "We are experiencing rapid growth at the moment and the fact that we are creating jobs right here in Clonakilty is a real boost to the local economy."
