Irish Transport Services to be severely disrupted

The Minister for Transport, Shane Ross TD,  is today reminding the public that Transport services will be severely disrupted. As per the advice of the National Emergency Co-Ordination Group, the Minister warns that all non-essential travel should be avoided.
 
While some operators are still running, Bus Éireann has suspended service and it will be reviewed by lunchtime today.

Dublin Bus service are planning to operate at present, but have advised that there will be significant disruption to services from 09.00 to 18.00. Be advised to check their website and twitter @dublinbusnews for more information. 
 
Luas is operating as normal, but have reminded people to keep up to date by checking their https://www.luas.ie/travel-updates/; also on twitter @Luas. 
 
Drivers of high sided vehicles are being advised to avoid travel during the height of the winds due to the extreme danger posed by gale force winds. 
 
Speaking today, Minister Ross said, "Safety is of paramount importance and I am urging everyone to take the necessary precautions and not to travel if at all possible. This type of weather alert is unprecedented and I can’t emphasise enough that personal safety is the highest priority. Please don’t take unnecessary risks."
