Republic of Ireland football manager, Martin O’ Neill, yesterday attended Celtic Pure’s County Monaghan plant for the announcement of a multi-million expansion.
The Irish mineral water company and official water sponsor for the FAI unveiled plans for their €5m new bottling facility. The Celtic Pure plant, located on the outskirts of Corcreagh in Monaghan, will create up to 60 new jobs during the construction phase of the expansion, as well as securing the future for the 50 people currently employed at the facility.
The company sold record volumes of bottled water last year in Ireland and worldwide through indirect exportation to China, United Arab Emirates, USA and Australia.
Chief Executive of Celtic Pure, Padraig McEneaney said, "The investment in our facilities will further create 25 + new jobs, increase our annual production capacity by 65% and see our annual turnover rise twofold by 2017.
"Our target is to bring the business to the stage where we can target sales of €18 million to €20 million. We’ve come a long way since 2000, with only two employees, supplying local customers with water in 5 litre drums."
Republic of Ireland manager, Martin O’Neill added, "Celtic Pure has been a great sponsor for the FAI and the senior international men’s team. I have been impressed by what I’ve seen here today, and I would like wish CEO Padraig McEneaney and his staff every success in their future endeavours."
