It was announced today that Qatar Airways will begin daily flights from Dublin Airport to the Qatari capital of Doha on 12 June.
The Dublin-Doha route is Ireland’s first ever direct air link to the Gulf state of Qatar and Qatar Airways’ first Irish route.
From Doha’s Hamad International Airport, Irish passengers flying with Qatar Airways can connect to more than 150 destinations including Tokyo, Sydney, Auckland, Bangkok and Beijing.
Dublin is one of 14 new cities which the airline will add to its network in 2017/18, including Canberra in Australia, Chiang Mai in Thailand and two destinations in Saudi Arabia.
Canberra will become the fifth Australian city served by Qatar Airways – taking the number of Australian destinations open to Irish passengers through Doha up to five.
Speaking today, Dublin Airport Managing Director Vincent Harrison said, "We're delighted that Qatar Airways will launch its new daily Dublin-Doha service in June connecting Ireland to Qatar and beyond. Doha is one of eleven new routes at Dublin Airport this year and we are working closely with Qatar Airways to promote this new service."
